Nov 16, 2013 · Currently doing some brake work on a 1996 Chevrolet 1500 6.5 litre turbo diesel. The brake system is a front-rear split. I was helping my older brother replace the brake lines going to the rear brakes. The S-10 rear will hold up pretty well until you start making mega-power. You will have to weld all the brackets from the Vega rear to the S-10 rear. Because the S-10 rear is actually 1" narrower than the Vega rear, you can work with backspacing to get a 9-10" tire in the fender without tubs! You also get the five-lug pattern with the S-10 rear. You can reset the valve manually though the upper switch position as well. Just take a small pick or paper clip and center the half moons back. I was trying to bleed the master clyinder on my 1998 Chevrolet(2wd) S-10 LS 2.2L MFI (ABS Kellsy hayes) after a nasty break line "rust through" and nothing comes out. I reset the combination valve, I have fluid in the master cylinder--although it went dry after a nasty break in the line--and can't get fluid to the back wheels. Vacuum brake assist units use a large round flexible diaphragm enclosed in an assembly to create two distinct vacuum chambers. The pedal side of the diaphragm has two valves attached to the pedal arm. These valves work together to control booster operation. I am confident that I will be able to eliminate my 2nd proportioning valve now and also be able to dial back the Wilwood valve to reduce the time delay effect in rear circuit pressure build-up. I have completed a brake conversion table with all of the common after market setups (brake torque, front-rear bias, etc.). How do you reset the proportioning valve in order to turn off the brake light on the dash? I have read how on here a long time ago but cant remember how or where Either way, all that has to be done is to pressureize the side of the valve the ball/plunger has moved to, so it will move the other way.
